AADR and ADEA are cosponsoring the April 14, 2015 Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill. At this time registration for AADR members has closed.
The April 14, 2015 Advocacy Day will begin at 9 a.m. in 2168 Rayburn House Office Building. Breakfast will be available at 8:30 a.m. Following our briefing session, advocates will meet with their members of Congress and staff. Below is additional information about the event.

Breakfast: 8:30 a.m.
Briefing: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This program will include a morning key issues briefing with members of Congress and staff from select federal agencies. Confirmed Speakers Include: Reps. Simpson (R-ID), Babin (R-TX), Gosar (R-AZ) and Cummings (D-MD); Dr. Somerman, Director of NIDCR, and Dr. Joskow Senior Dental Advisor at HRSA. Following an update from these individuals ADEA and AADR will provide tools and resources to help prepare you for meetings with members of Congress and their staff.
Lunch: 12 p.m.
Meetings with members of Congress and their staff: 12-5 p.m. ADEA and AADR will schedule meetings with members of Congress and their staff on your behalf. Please be sure to save time between 12 p.m.-5 p.m. on April 14 for hill visits. Due to the nature of scheduling meetings with members of Congress typically your schedule will not finalized until a couple of days in advance of our advocacy day. We will share a preliminary schedule of your hill visits on Friday, April 10. Please note if you have an early flight, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your travel schedule.
Documents for Hill Meetings: ADEA and AADR will draft suggested talking points, fact sheets and other documents to assist in your meetings with members of Congress. These documents along with your meeting schedule will be available for pick up at our morning briefing session at 9 a.m. at 2168 Rayburn House Office Building.
The schedule for the Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill is designed to allow participants to fly or drive into and out of Washington, DC, on the same day if feasible and desired. Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the closest (5 miles) to Capitol Hill. However, for participants attending from distant locations, an overnight stay may be required.
This time of year is extremely busy for tourism in Washington, DC, and hotel rooms book quickly. If you need a hotel room, please do not wait until the last minute! AADR has secured an open block of hotel rooms for April 13 at the Morrison-Clark Inn at a special rate of $239 plus tax.
