The IADR and AADR provide a wealth of ways for you to further your career in dental, oral and craniofacial research. Here is a brief overview of the many opportunities available for members.

Journals
Journal of Dental Research
Access to the Journal of Dental Research (JDR) is available to members online. For those interested in a print subscription, IADR membership provides a deep discount. The JDR contains the results of original investigations in all sciences relevant to dentistry and the oral cavity and associated structures and is one of the most cited dental journal, with a Five-Year Scientific Impact Factor of 3.966.

Advances in Dental Research
Advances in Dental Research, an E-supplement to the Journal of Dental Research,
is a forum for detailed exploration and timely discussion of significant research developments in the sciences relevant to dentistry and to the chemistry, biology, and function of the oral cavity in health and disease. The proceedings of major conferences, workshops and symposia are published in this journal.

Events and Information-sharing Opportunities
Members receive deep discounts on AADR Annual Meetings and the IADR General Session & Exhibition. Divisions and Sections also conduct meetings at the local level. Check here for a calendar of upcoming programs.

Scientific Group & Network Participation
Members are eligible to join IADR Scientific Groups & Networks, where you can network with investigators in similar disciplines to exchange information and collaborate in specific areas of research. Each Group participates in the development of its own scientific program at the General Session and sponsors activities during the year.
Career Center
Connect yourself with new employment opportunities with our Career Center by posting a job or searching for one. This resource is also helping connect Universities, Dental Schools, Institutions and Corporations with our specialized niche.
Recognition Programs
Members are eligible to participate in the organization’s committees and volunteer activities, as well as in the numerous opportunities for awards and fellowships.
Volunteer and Leadership Opportunities
Opportunities to participate in the governance process of the AADR are numerous, whether as a committee member or chair, or in an elected position at the Division level. Contact the AADR Central Office at research@iadr.org if you are interested in serving as a volunteer leader.
Awards and Fellowships
Each year, the IADR presents awards and fellowships totaling up to $580,000. These programs are excellent resources for further research development, as well as for recognition of your work in the field.

Advocacy and Development
Regional Development Program
The Regional Development Program is designed to promote research in various developing regions throughout the world. The main thrust of the program is aimed at the research and academic communities, with the objective of increasing their ability to perform research effectively.
Adopt-a-Member Program
Members who wish to participate include additional funds when they pay their annual dues. These funds are used to support memberships for researchers in less-developed or economically distressed countries around the world.

Government Affairs Committee (U.S. Only)
The Government Affairs Committee (GAC) is actively involved in national legislative affairs related to dental research and education in oral health. The committee will study government issues and advise the Board and Council on the possible effects on dental research.
Advocates (U.S. Only)
You may choose to be an active participant in the governance process through the AADR Advocates. The Advocates serve as the “voice” of the GAC, generating letters and telephone contacts to educate key members of Congress prior to legislative action on key research-related issues.
